イタリアの建築デザイン事務所勤務後、イギリス、ドイツ、ブラジルを経て、現在は日本で水彩画で、風景、静物を主に描いています。 
透明水彩絵の具ならではの独特な透明感や滲みなどの技法を用いながら、直接自分で見て感じた光のある景色やテーブルの上の物をテーマ、モチーフとしています。

Uma mistura cultural - do Japão para o mundo

 

 Japão, Itália e Inglaterra

 

 Do Japão, Mayumi, mantendo sua herança oriental, expressou desde cedo sua paixão pelas artes plásticas.  Primeira frequentou um clube de artes e depois ensino médio voltado para belas artes, no qual estudou técnicas de pintura a óleo.

 

 Formada em design de interiores pela School of Design, Japão, mudou-se para Milão onde frequentou a Scuola Politecnica (Mestrado em Design de Produto + Design de Interiores).  Lá viveu e trabalhou em vários escritórios e, durante uma década, no Matteo Thun and Partners, um escritório de arquitetura de renome internacional.

 Em seguida, mudou-se para a Inglaterra, onde viveu por dois anos, frequentou prestigiados cursos de aquarela e ganhou vários prêmios. 

 

 

 Aquarela: uma verdadeira paixão

​

 Sua mudança para o Reino Unido marcou uma transformação fundamental no seu trabalho e vida. Mayumi mudou seu foco de design para pintura em aquarela e deixou sua carreira de designer.  A mudança aconteceu seguindo sua intuição e talento: descobriu a aquarela, estudou-a e aprofundou sua técnica.  Transformando gradualmente sua paixão em trabalho.  Primeiro na Inglaterra, país de grande tradição em aquarela, depois em Alemanha.  

 Mayumi trabalha com movimentos rápidos e ágeis, pintando sem parar, aproveitando o dia e a luz natural, capturando a eternidade de um momento.  Ela sintetiza seu amor pela aquarela através do frescor, transparência e espontaneidade das suas pinturas.

 Da Europa para o Brasil, uma nova paleta

 

 Em 2022, mudou-se para o Curitiba, Brasil, e aqui iniciou um novo capítulo de sua vida e carreira.  A receptividade e curiosidade de Mayumi para o novo continente serviram de inspiração para o seu trabalho. A paisagem natural e cultural brasileira enriqueceu seu passado, trazendo uma visão mais fresca e acrescentando cores mais vivas à sua paleta e arte.

 Atualmente é membro da Associação Profissional dos Artistas Plásticos do Paraná e da AIA.

E agora, a partir de março de 2024, ela se mudou para o Japão, seu pais de origem, e continua a assumir novas aspirações e desafios.

A cultural mixture - from Japan to the world

Japan, Italy and UK

From Japan, Mayumi keeping an oriental heritage, expressed her passion for art at an early age. She first attended an art club, then an artistic high school where she studied oil painting techniques.

After graduating in interior design at the School of Design, she moved to Milan and attended the Scuola Politecnica (Master in Product Design + Interior Design). Here she lived and worked in several offices and for a decade in Matteo Thun and Partners, an internationally known architectural firm.

She moved to England where she attended prestigious watercolour courses and won several awards.

Watercolour: an authentic passion

Changing from design to watercolours, Mayumi left Milan and her design career.

The turning point happened by following her intuition and talent: she discovered watercolours, studying and deepening her technique. She gradually transformed her passion into work. First in England, a country of big watercolour tradition; then moved to Germany. Her move to the UK marked a fundamental transformation of her work and life. She works with quick, rapid movements, painting ceaselessly, seizing the day and the light capturing the eternity of a moment. She synthesises her love for watercolour through freshness, transparency and spontaneity.


From Europe to Brazil, a new palette

Brazilian natural and cultural landscape enriches her background with a fresher vision, adding brighter colours to her palette and art. The openness and curiosity of Mayumi for the unknown continent provide her input and inspiration.

In 2022, she moved to Curitiba in Brazil, and she starts a new chapter of her life and career.

And from March 2024, she moved to her country of origin, Japan, and continues to take on new orientations and challenges.
